Shannon Lee West completed her ballet training at Arizona Ballet School, under the direction of Keep Juan Han with supplemental training at The Rock School and The Harid Conservatory. While still in high school Ms. West began performing professionally with Ballet Arizona. Upon graduation, Ms. West spent time dancing with Center Dance Ensemble, Ballet Pacifica, The Georgia Ballet, and Cedar Lake.
After transitioning from performing to artistic administration, Ms. West became the Ballet Mistress and Resident Choreographer for Missouri Contemporary Ballet, where she remained for 8 years. During this time her choreographed works were performed locally and at national and international festivals.
Ms. West is a Vaganova trained teacher and is proud to continue that lineage to all of her students. In addition to dance instruction, Ms. West has nearly completed her Pilates teacher certification through Core Dynamics. She is passionate about training well-rounded dancers with a keen understanding of the biomechanics of the body, focusing, ultimately, on the longevity of each student’s dance career.
